    Anyone shoot Hornady .308 178 gr. A-Max at 1000 yds. ?

My first 1000 yd shoot is in April and trying to develop a load. I'm thinking I'll start with either IMR4064 @ 42gr. or Varget @ 42gr. using my REM700 .308.

    Any thoughts?

Do you plan on working up a load or do you think that somehow you know the optimum load on the first try? If so please tell the rest of poor slobs, who spend countless hours coming up with the very best load, how you performed this magic.

Pick up the most recent copy of "Handloader." That has a very good article on how the writer developed his best load.

Why are you using BN? You can send them to Tubb and they will do it for you if it isn't going on right. Is that the problem?

With the exception that some loading manuals will say that's over the MAX load.
