best load for 300 win mag

Just ordered a 300 from nighthawk and i can't wait to come home and shoot the fire out of it. This topic has probably been brought up on here and discussed but i was just wondering what everyone has had good luck with as far as loads. Thinking of goin with H1000 with 210 gr VLDs. Any info i'd appreciate it. Thanks.

H1000 is an excellent powder for the 300WM. I also like the range of bullet weight you are looking at but check out the 208 AMAX as well as the 210 VLD. The 208 has a higher BC and is usually about $10 less per box also. They shot great out of my 300WM. Try both and see what works best.

The Navy just did some pretty extensive testing and decided on 220 SMKs when everything was taken into consideration.

I have had good luck with 210 SMKs and Hornady 208s
Just try different bullets/loads and see what works best for you and your needs.

Come on Mike. It's a magnum and no fun unless you're screaming them out there. Barrels are replaceable LOL

Rob agreed and I plan on wearing out a bunch of bbls out as soon as I get back to CONUS. For last two months I have only been wearing the finish off the outside carrying an M4 around here in Iraq.

Thanks a bunch for the help fellers. My dad and I usually shoot together and he can out shoot all of my rifles with his winchester 300 mag. I'm hopin i can start gettin close to his shootin now with this good of a rifle. He loads light and shoots fast. We usually load his 300 with 180 gr nosler ballistic tips with IMR 4350 but i'm wanting a heavier bullet for shootin on out there farther. I'll for sure be trying different bullets but i'm really leaning on the H1000 powder.

I'm probably one of the few that likes RL-22 & 25.

I used to use RL22 but found H1000 to give the same velocities and it was much less temp sensitive.

out of all the 300win mags load for i use imr 4350-r22-r25 and i'm loading motly berger 185's now i'm shooting out past 1500 quite abit lately. I found the berger vlds gave better results than the 190-210-220 smks

RIght now the rifle i'm using in the field and on the bench is a berger 185hunting vld loaded with IMR 4350 at 65.5 i'm also shooting 26 in barrel and i'm averaging 2950fps.

But you will have to see what your rifle likes.
