I have just started reloading for my M700 .243. I am looking at doing some long range shooting and want to know what people are using for the best loads. I have reviewed the loads at 6mmbr.com and have a pretty good idea what I am looking at, however I want to know if there is anything new or different. I am looking for everything from brass, powder, to bullet. Also what distance you are using the load for.
I have tried the search and did not come up with anything. Still trying to figure that one out
Is that a factory barrel? If so you will need to keep the bullet weight below 105grn and even some of them won't work with the 9 1/8" twist. Try some 105 AMAX and H4350 powder. Also here's a link to a page with some .243 loads on it as well as some other calibers http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthr ... Post348731
Warning: The following is near max in MY rifle. I suggest downloading 10% and working up in yours.
I'm using 47.5gr of H1000 behind 115gr HbN coated Dtac bullets on top of CCI BR2 primers in Lapua casings. Getting somewhere around 3000fps out of a 27" 1-8"tw barrel. Using this load from up close to way far away.
I tried H4350 and got bad pressure spikes before reaching desired velocities which is why I tried Re25 and H1000. It seems my rifle is the exception, not the rule when it comes to H4350.
