I just had 600 Hornady 75 grain BTHP's delivered today. Next payday I'm ordering the powder. I get the impression that the usual suspects, ( Tac, RL 15, N140, varget) all generally will return similar performance. What I would like to ask now is which powders flow the best when using electronic scale/despenser combo's?
Dude you weren't kidding when you said 2520 meters like water. It shoots pretty clean too. so far I have found good accuracy at 26.4 and 25.0. I think I'm going to run with the 25 grain load so I don't beat up my brass any more than I have to. my chrono broke so I don't have any velocity numbers. I'll try to borrow one from a shooting buddy or something when I get a chance. I'm betting on between 2700 and 2750. It shoot accurate so I'm no changing it even if it is on the slow side.
Now all I have to do is save for either a Dillon 650 or a Hornady Lock'n load AP.
can i jump in and ask what other powders meter well that can be used for 308win,243win and 30-06? just looking for some info to clean up some loads that i have. I tired to google search it but google-fu isnt that strong
Or a better question is what do i look for in a powder name that says its a short round powder?
Grab a large diameter straw ( McDonalds is a good choice ) cut off 1/2 - 1 inch of straw and push inside the dispensing tube above the scale. This helps keep the powder from piling up so much at the edge and avalanching onto your scale when the build up gets too high due to the grooved dispensing tube.
Doesn't solve it completely, but certainly cuts the problem way down.
