    Sks rebuild?

I have an SKS and if the ammo is not perfect or sometimes even if it is. I get alot of stuck cases. It seams that the bolt is coming back to fast or may not even be going all the way back. My guess would be the main spring or extractor spring not clearing case fast enough anyone else deal with this.

Are you running laquered, steel cased ammo?

I hate to be the cruel hand of reality slapping you across the face but, someone has to do it.

Life's hard, buy a helmet. You're not going to get coddled around here so get over it.

I bet you have a pitted chamber. Try to lightly polish your chamber. Use a very fine valve grinding compound and go easy. Make sure that you thoroughly clean the compound from your chamber before using the gun.

I bet this fixes the problem. Many SKS rifles have schmoed-out chambers as a result of corrosive primers. Not all SKS rilfes have chrome chambers and bores.

I hate to say it i used some cheap Russian garbage, I think it was called flying tiger. I was under the impression the gun would shoot anything. Its a mistake I wont repeat. I think im going to rebuild it anyway. Refinish stock, reblue barrel, and springs all around. Anyone no of a good parts source for the SKS?

Even the poor quality ammo should work fine. If it's the later Yugo 59/66, it probably is pitted and/or leaking gas valve. Pull it out and take a look, just make sure you don't loose the spring. There was a fellow selling tight-fitting aftermarket valves on ebay some time ago, $10-20 if I remember good.
