Ruger M77 MK II Bolt disassembly

    Hi all,

I am re-barrelling my M77MkII VT and want to get the barrelled action teflon coated once completed.

I need to be disassemble the bolt (remove the firing pin assembly to allow for coating of the sleeve and cocking piece). Looking in the owners manual, it refers to inserting a pin into a 'disassembly hole'

Quite frankly, the instructions provided by Ruger are less than adequate. Does anyone have any pics or suggestions on how I can do this??

Any help would be much appreciated!!
    Cheers,

Heres the schematic for a ruger M77 Mk II from brownells, maybe it will help out a little.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

Ive managed to get the job done.

For any who r interested, u need to have te bolt cocked and pass a pin thru a hole in the cocking piece. What they dont tell u is where the hole is as there are 3 holes.

What they also dont tell u is that u need to pull back on the bolt to get a pin thru the hole as part of it is obscured by the cocking indicator. U do this using an edge of a bench whilst using your other 4 hands to insert a the pin.

Once this is done, u can remove the shroud and firing pin assy from the bolt. Dont get me started on the extractor ring though  That being said, the whole job was a PITA (and it was a practice run whilst I'm waiting on the new barrel!!) but a necessary evil seing I am getting the thing teflon coated.

Give me my remington any day!!!
    Cheers,
