    Handheld PDA ballistic units

I had this post up only for a couple of days in the "off topic" section but now the whole forum is gone. So here i ask once again (sorry for all who have replied already).

I am looking to get a hand held ballistic calculator and was wondering what people are using out there. I looked at the Nighforce PDA but its huge, and so is the trimble. I don't need to calculate the spin of the earth or when Hayley's comet is coming around again. Just something like JBM on a hand held, even exbal, nightforce's software on a smaller unit would be good.

I shoot 338 Lapua and I use a printed and laminated sheet in my bag, but its very limited. Different wind, altitude, humidity, temp and target speed is hard to predict at home to print up before i leave on a 4-6hr drive to go hunting. Using my NF 8-32x56 I have the magnification and the 338 Lapua is providing the power to reach out and finish what im aiming at. 800yrds is as far as i have gone with my trusty old printed sheet.

So before i spend any more money, it would be great to hear what everyone out there are using.

    Thanks all

Get something like Dell Axim X51 off ebay an throw on the Nightforce software and you'll be all set. It's small and handy and if you wanted to make it weather resistant you can throw it in a case. Here's some pics of mine

I am pretty impressed with the Iphone using the Ballistic FTE application. The new version of "Ballistic FTE" uses JBM ballistic computer. It’s a very versatile tool. http://ballistic.zdziarski.com/

What kind of cases are you guys using for these? I'm picking up an iphone and was looking at the otter box defender.

The ballistic fte app looks pretty cool, I may take the advice on that one and see how it works.

This is what I am currently using. Its not water proof but I can still use all the features of the phone. I am not too hard on it though. Even in this case, it wouldn't have a chance in my wifes purse. If you are tough on electronics I would use something more like Rob has.
