With not much of an idea of what would happen or how bad I may screw up a nice hunting rifle I decided to camo my first rifle. Rifle is a Ruger MK II SS in 270 win. Paint is Rustoleum (SP?) primer, brown, dark earth, and tan. As you will see in the pics to follow it turned out better than I thought it would. The colors are a little off due to the lighting in my garage and the camera flash, but in real life they match the winter conditions of my hunting are very well. If anyone wants a break down on how to do it I will post what I did and what I would do over again. I will do the scope and rings later. I need to get some butler creek caps for the scope before I paint it and need a higher set of rings as well. Once I get the rifle complete I will post the completed project. As a starting point I used the advice of a friend of mine, LTRDavid, you can see more at his site http://www.LTRDavid.net
Let me know what you think.....good or bad!
QUESTION: should I put a coat of matte clear on top of it? Let me know.
EDIT: the 3rd pic is about the closest true color of the rifle
HERE ARE PICS IN MY AO. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
