    .22lr drop at 200 yards - Help!

    Hi chaps,

A very quick request...my ballistics program has stoped working the day before I want to try my hand at shooting my .22lr at 200 yards. I am currently zeroed in at 20 yards; can someone possibly tell me the drop a .22lr round, w/muzzle velocity of 1200fps (40g bullet) will have at 200 yards so I can dial it in to at least be on paper?

    Thanks in advance

If i was you i would set up a very tall target and aim at the TOP and see where you are when the dust settles. But i dont think it would have enough engery to punch thru paper hehe

    Assuming a BC between .120 and .165, a 40 gr slug, 1200 fps MV, and a 20 yd zero: drop at 200 yds=46.5" to 42.3" and energy of 64 to 73 ft-lbs at 200 yds.

Here is a ballistic chart for 40 grain Wolf Match 22 traveling at 1050fps.

This should give you some idea.

    Chart is from:

You gave him a 50 yd zero and reduced his MV to 1050. About a foot off, if he's really getting 1200 fps.

Dude i wouldnt even think that would be possible if i didnt read that. Thats a really eye opener. I think we should start F-Class .22LR. that would be a cool match
