    Japan TASCO 8-32x44

I just bought a Japan built TASCO 8-32x44 World Class Target Silhouette scope for something to use to build loads for my 6mm and 260 Remingtons. The scope is like new and was wondering if these are worth having or did I just throw $80 away?

I'm hoping with the low recoil of these two calibers, a cheap scope like this will work just for developing loads. I will be using my good scopes for hunting and general shooting.

I haven't bolted this scope to a rifle yet, I just got it a couple of hours ago. I just wanted something stronger than my 3X9 scopes for checking loads at 200 yards and more. I have an old Weaver 24X target scope but over the many years of being out of the sport and moving all over the world, I can't find it. I got this one because it was fairly cheap and since I was just going to build loads with it, I was wondering if these old TASCO's were worth having, even for that.

Actually, I was amazed at the clarity when I went to look at it. I'm not going to say it's as good as my $600 Nikon or Leapolds but at 200 yards, once you got it adjusted this thing was still very sharp, that's why I decided to buy it. I was just concerned about the internals of a cheap slope like this staying where they are suppose to be.

    Yep, that we will.
I guess when my 6mm that easily shoots three shot groups of .3 inches at 100 yards starts shooting 1.5" groups, I will have my answer.

I've read the newer Chinese built scopes were close to being junk and the clarity on those higher powered scopes sucked at long range, but the older Japan built models were suppose to be OK. Like you said, the truth will be in the firing.
