I have mounted a new Nikon M-308 scope on my AR-10 using the supplied base that came with the scope. The base has 20 MOA while the scope only has 40 MOA total adjustment according to the specs. I mechanically zeroed the scope and found it has 54 MOA total (221 clicks 1/4 moa each) is that normal?
After bore sighting it, I went to the range and ran out of elevation and was still about an inch high at 100 yards. I'm using match 168 gr ammo and shooting from a rest. Was thinking about ditching the 20 MOA mount and just putting on some 0 MOA rings, but I want to be able to stretch it out to 600-800 yards.
Any help appreciated!
