    Weaver scopes

Would like some input on Weaver scopes. I plan on using it on my Savage 116, .06 for 300-500yd target shooting. I am looking at Weaver's
    6-20x40 Grand Slam.
    How's the quality?
    how's my application?
other suggestions in the sub $400 price range.

I can't help you on the Weaver, but another suggestion under $400 is Mel's Mueller Tac II. He's got a review of this scope on here and I haven't heard one bad thing about it yet. I bought it a few weeks ago myself. It's great.

Thanks, I had looked at that but I also have one more requirement that REALLY narrows things down...I want it in a silver to match the rifle.

Leupold VX-1 series is under $400 and some come in silver too, plus they are quality optics. Try these guys http://www.dnrsports.com/acatalog/D___R ... _1738.html

I actually like the Weaver scopes. The optical quality is very nice and the scopes themselves are very nice. I really liked their old tactical line, but they do not make those any longer. I think it would be a good fit for your application.
