Ruger Precision Rifle - What's the best scope for the money?

This is a discussion on Ruger Precision Rifle - What's the best scope for the money? within the Optics forums, part of the Sniping Related category; Nothing against firemen but it kind of makes sense in a way. Yes, they're still servicemen but they never use firearms/Optics. Sent from my SM-N910V ...

Ruger Precision Rifle - What's the best scope for the money?

Athlon Argos BTR FFP 369$. Mine has held up. Tracks perfect and has 500 shots on it. .308
    Worth a look.

Great thing is. If it stops working send it back and they will send you a new one no questions asked. I don't roll around with my rifle and beat it against trees so I'm hoping I get long life out of it.

I picked up a Vortex 6X24-50 FFP three weeks ago from my LGS for $739.00. This makes my second Vortex scope and I've been very pleased with both of them. YMMV

The Gen 1 FFP PST's are on sale at Midway for $699. If they still have them , it's a pretty good deal.

Get the new Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27×50 that wil be comparable to the Vortex Razor for the same price as the PST. More bang for your buck with Athlon. They will be out any day now.

If I were to trade up to a Bergarra as I plan then it would be a worthy match as I would ship the RPR with the XTR included.

Here in CT. I will seldom shoot further than 200yds. There is one range I know of with 600 but private and no publicity.
    200 yrds, get a 22lr

I would step up to HD glass and get the new Athlon Ares BTR FFP, great value. They have the same Gold warranty as Vortex with better value for the money.

My $.02 is a Burris 5x25x50 II. It's not the best, but for the money it's pushing the best. Tracks very good and nice glass with FFP. It did very good out at 1,000 yards and out.
