I am loading 88 gr of h 1000 and getting 1/2 groups at 100 yds seated to mag length but with the LM should I be trying my load development at longer yds like 300 or 400 since it's a long range rifle. My groups at 300 are about 2 1/2 in. What can I do to tighten my groups up at longer distances. Thanks
Interesting. I recently decided to try the 300 Bergers as well. Pushing the bullet with VV N-165. Out of a GAP 338lm. Seems the node is right at 79.0 to 79.5 for my rifle.
I've been shooting 250g smk's, with VVN-165. That load was 92.4g same hole size, at 100y.
I'm going back to SMKs, the price for 500 is the same as 250 Berger's.
I ran 93.8 of VV 170 with 250 lapua's in my TRG-42. They averaged 3 to 4" at 600yds. I couldn't shoot the 300's because of twist. I no longer own the gun and still setting on 6# of V-170 ( 3 unopened 2# jugs.) If anyone interested contact me at manfish751@yahoo.com
