detachable to fixed blind mag? savage 111

I have a savage 111 in .270 Winchester and I was wondering if there was a conversion kit to change the 111 detachable to a blind mag. the reason behind this is that the stock I purchased recently is only for the blind mag. ops:

All you need is a magazine follower assembly and a magazine box assembly.

    Brownells:
    #855-000-041
    #855-000-045

    Good luck with the project!
    Wishing I could shoot more!

Wasn't this a rifle you were posting on a while back, about trying to install a B&C Medalist stock? Seems like we discussed this before. If it's the one I'm thinking of, you must have decided that making the drop mag was too much to mess with. I'd have gone the same way.

I've seen the blind mag kit advertised on Midway USA's site.

yup, same rifle and stock.... It looks like it is more than removing the plastic. I would need to mill and possibly tap part of the aluminum pillars which is more work than I have time for :?

how does the magazine fit in the action? Does it snap in somehow or to I just center it in the stock and place the action over the mag then tighten down the screws?

Here's pics of my little Stevens 200 .308's blind mag. A Savage 10 in cheap clothing.

First, the follower and spring. They just rest against the bottom of the stock, and ride in the tin magwell.

Here's a left side bottom view of the well.

Here's a view of the front of the magwell, where the lip slides into a groove.

Here's a view of the rear of the magwell, where the lip at the rear runs through a rear groove.

Here's a side view of the whole assembly.

Hopefully these pics will give you an idea of where things go. Sorry it took so long.Lately I've been working 12 hour days in this sweat shop of my own making.

thanks for the pics.... I guess I cannot change my 111 into a blind mag because it dosent have the groves machined into the receiver....also my folower is way different than yours, mine is made of plastic an has a oval shaped wire spring.....

If you could take a pic of your rifle's magwell area, where the drop mag enters the receiver, perhaps something could be done with it. Brownell's shows a couple types, but it doesn't seem like it would be cost effective to make a different receiver just for a detatchable magazine. a drop mag would sure be cool to have for competition purposes.
