Mossberg 100 ATR Night Train Rifle in .308 Caliber

Good evening. I'm curious what other members of the forum think of the Mossberg 100 ATR Night Train Rifle in .308 Caliber which comes complete with a Harris Bipod and Barska Variable Power Scope. Lists for around $469.00 and for those who enjoy shooting .308 without having to spend $1000.00 and up it seems like a decent package. Any thoughts?

Contact Larry McElroy (oneeyedmac) at http://www.excorioprecisionarms.com and inquire about his budget Howa package. Would be much better for you.

I had the first gen night train package.. when I hadn't a clue about precision rifles. Hey.. it looked cool.. ops:

At least with mine, the action was clunky, and whether it be the rifle, or the scope, it was 1.5 - 2 moa accurate, and that was with someone who was more proficient than me. The newer version has another HUGE barsksa scope... but it does come with the harris bipod, and an adjustable neoprene cheekpad, and a barret-esque brake. I think it comes either in black or digital camo. Personally.. I'd pass. Save a little more, and get a Howa or Remington package from either Larry (Oneeyedmac), or Mel. Mel is a stand up guy, but having dealt with Larry personally, I also highly recommend him.

with a decent bed job and some handloads you could reasonably hit targets at 500y , center mass.
    What was that ?

don't spend your own money on and ATR

There much better guns than that one for that kind of money. The howa 1500 is just such a gun. The remington 700 SPS for just a big more.
