Help me with finding this Sniper Rifle

Hello all, I am new to these forums and like my nickname, I like snipers.

Anyways, there was this sniper rifle I saw not too long ago I believe on the Military channel that was a semi-automatic sniper rifle. It was a very small rifle since the ammo loads in from the back and it has the ability to change the ammo-type by twisting a few screws.

I can't remember the name of it and I can't seem to find the rifle anywhere on youtube and other sources. So I might as well ask here.

EDIT: I just want to read more about the rifle but I can't remember the name.

    Howdy!

Clarify a bit...when you mention that it loads from the back, do you mean by a magazine? And, by changing calibers, did you see someone removing what looked like the entire top end of the rifle?

Do you remember the caliber at all; or, perhaps, what country used it?

Try to post some more info, and we'll try to point you in the right direction.

I'll do my best to clarify.

The caliber is very high, I believe something similar or slightly smaller than a .50 cal. Yeah it does load by magazine from the back end of the rifle.

This is much like a hybrid of a sniper and an assult rifle. Something that is very compact yet has great accuracy and devastating stopping power. With the option of a caliber change, it allows the user to transfer from a long-range environment, to closer combat.

What I remembered is that they take a screw driver and half-turn a few screws on the side of the rifle, take out the mag from the back-end, and replace it with the smaller caliber mag and re-tighten the screws again. The person was taking his time and did it in under a minute while talking and showing what he was doing.

    I hope this helps.

I think the rifle you are looking for is the Stealth Recon Scout.

I bleive what you are referring to is a Desert Tactical HTI Rifle. You can switch between 375 Cheytac up to 50 BMG, here is a link to the site. I don't believe this is available yet.

    thanks,

That's the smaller cousin of the Stealth Recon Scout (SRS), hadn't seen that one.

But in retrospect, the OP was asking about a semi-auto which might be the FNH

It might have been. Thanks for the help guys. I'll keep searching around to see if it's something different. Just surprised that the military channel doesn't have a whole lot of info on the stuff they have in their shows. Kinda dissapointing.

The general form of the rifle, with the action moved into the stock, is called a bullpup design. If you search on semi-auto bullpup, you will find several different models.

    Magpul Masada? http://www.magpul.com/pdfs/masada_technote.pdf
They sold the rights to Bushmaster/Remington, now called the ACR. Not a bullpup design but modular.
