That's my thoughts exactly first things first though gotta get some optics, and a stock with a high comb. Don't mind the hogue but need a little more comfort and a free floated barrel
Marines invade and go home, the Army occupies.
For the cost of having a new 20" barrel installed, you could buy a SPS-Tactical with 20" barrel for $699ish or another SPS-T AAC-SD for $799. I'd say it would be well worth just buying another complete rifle for another $100-$200 extra. Or just take that money and buy your stock, new trigger and put some toward your optic. Sounds like a pretty cool rifle! Can you post some pictures of it????
Just bought one of these the other day, mostly for the fun factor of a lightweight(ish) supressed .308. Here's some of the Gunbroker pics as I'm not home.
The factory Remington barrel on the AAC-SD is a threaded heavy contour 20" with 1:10 twist...the factory Remington barrel on the SPS-Tac is a non-threaded heavy contour 20" with 1:12 twist...
