I have two rifles with Shaw barrels, one in a 7mm STW 1.25 bull barrel mauser, and one in a .300 RUM heavy fluted Savage. They have good accuracy.I have a Douglas air-gauged barrel on a 700 Rem that's slightly better, but almost double the price.

I have visited the facility three times in Bridgeville, PA. They do large numbers of barrels in their shop. They also do alot of short M-16 platform barrels for the government. I had a chrome moly installed by E.R. Shaw on my 700 Rem .270 Win 5 years ago. I have since shot it out and had it replaced with a stainless Hart by a custom smith. For the money the E.R. Shaw barrel is a deal. I would recommend installion by your favorite smith instead of Shaw to get custom head spacing and throat dimensions to your needs. If they install they go strictly by SAMMI specs. I believe the tollerance is .010 between the upper and lower limits on head space in the SAMMI specification, but don't quote me.
TAC OPS Tango 51 20" LH, NXS 3.5-15, Tac Ops 30 can
Savage 10FLP 223 20", McMillan, Leupold 4-12 Mil dot, GemTech M4-02
Rem 700 LH VS 308 20" threaded, Mark4 mounts & 4.5-14 Illum Mil dot, 2.25# tuned trigger
I have a 1.115" straight taper barrel on my custom 700. It's only has bout 40rnds through it, but I'm sure I will be able to get it to be a consistant .75moa rifle with some nice match handloads.

At one time I had a Rem XP100 that had an E R Shaw barrel in 223.
It shot great. Wish I still had it.

I've got a 24" fluted, bull on one of my AR's and while it took a while to get settled in (200+ rounds), it's now doing 3/4" at 100yds with handloads.
