Hello all,
Can you all post your preferred choice of sidearm and maybe some pics?
You thoughts on carry systems?

Specifically, a sidearm to pair with a precision rifle in the field setting.gsmithplm said:For what purpose? I have different guns for different purposes.
Pends on the field, but I would select something I could HIT with out to 50-75 yards. I would also select something I could hit with QUICKLY at 1 to 7 yards.Grevlin said:Specifically, a sidearm to pair with a precision rifle in the field setting.gsmithplm said:For what purpose? Crap, Chris...keep that up, and my head won't fit through the doors in my house. I'm coming for you when I figure out how to get in the car with this thing! Seriously, I'm no pistol expert, I just follow what I see as logic. Rifle's my game, and I'd always prefer one to any other arm.pacis custodis said:I would say a Sig 226 or a 1911...
Nate,
Could you please expand on your reasons as to why no Beretta or JMB? I am sincerely curious, not questioning. I am young and have much to learn and know you are more than qualified and give great advice and instruction.
Thanks,
Chris
Nate, you deserve all the recognition. I mean how many people hold the US Distinguished Rifleman Badge #1997 (1,997 and counting...) I know that says Rifleman and not Pistol Master, but hey. You give sound advice period. Now, get that big head in the car and come over to NW, Ohio and we will go out and you can teach me a few things on rifles. Like how to get out to 200-300yds on a .22lr 8)natdscott said:Crap, Chris...keep that up, and my head won't fit through the doors in my house. You, my friend, need a bigger safe.avolcek said:I'm happy to say the S&W M&P is in my collection, and I soon will be replacing my Sig and Glock that some schmoe decided he was entitled to and not me.
You may be old fashioned, but after 100 years, it's still one of the best tools for the jobPowderman said:Well, I may be old fashioned, but....
You mean because of its size, or because it only gets 8 shots? I like mine because I'm accurate with it, and it's dependable, but I have a large frame (6', 220 lbs), so it's easy to conceal/carry for me - not so much for other people. The only reason my wife let me get it was because it's a repro of what grandpa carried in WWII when he was guarding Goering et. al. at Nuremberg.avolcek said:The 1911 is a great design, look how long it's lasted, but IMO for carry purposes, there are better, cheaper options. I'd love to have a 1911 though for nostalgia purposes.RocketmanOU said:...but after 100 years, it's still one of the best tools for the job
