    45 acp

Looking for information on the best 45 lswc bullet mold for shooting bullseye and load. Just bought new Taurus pt1911, will post picks after transfer is complete. Plan to see what I can ring out of this pistol.

Do you have a load to match or give a starting point.

yep, that's what I shoot, I use the Lee Classic Turret with the Lee powder dispenser, # 53 hole, which works out to 4.0g bullseye. This is considered a powder puff load, but out of my 1911's it's pretty accurate out to 25 yards. With the lower velocity, the lswc's don't lead up the barrel as fast as the higher velocity rounds do.

Another thing you can do for accuracy is use your barrel from your 1911 as a case gauge.

hope this helps and have fun.

    Thank guys
This is going to be a blast.
I think i got hooked after i got the GSG 1911 22lr running. So next winter when shooting indoors again I'll warm up with the 22lr and switch over to 45acp. I can work on load refinement this summer.

I don't recall what powder they use but it's one of the faster burning ones.

I run 4.8 gr of Hodgdon Tite-Group with that bullet. The manual will show 4.7 to 5.1 depending on alloy/velocity. I get 850-860 fps from 4.8gr, with little to no leading, excellent grouping out to 50 yds. I can reliably hit pigs (100yd) on the pistol silhouette range, (handy test, not serious)
.45 acp is a very versatile cartridge.
