    target size

I have been pushing my .308 savage out to some longer distances. Today I was shooting around 800 yrd. I only had a 8 1/2 " saw blade that I painted orange. Is this preety small for a target at 800 yds.? Shouls I be using a bigger size target?

Depends if you were hitting it or not. In F class they use a 1/2 MOA V bull which at 800 yards is 4".

It's about MOA which is a good size to try and be able to hit. Then work for 1/2 MOA if your gear can do it. Setting up a paper target is really a lot of help when you are learning.

I'd use a bigger target if you are shooting alone.. Hard to spot your own rounds if you arent hitting steel...

I agree, make a bigger target but make it multicolored so you can have a smaller bull if you want but still be able to track your shots

The best option is abrasion resistant (AR)-500 plate steel. Thicker is better, but also heavier. I think they are using 1/2" thick AR-500 plates here at the local sniper match.
