help needed! Ballistics for Remington 700 varmint .308

I am purchasing a Remington model 700 varmint .308 and was wondering what to plugin to the windage equation- (distance/100) wind speed/x, i am going to be using american eagle Winchester federal rounds, the muzzle velocity is 2820 fps, 150 grain, boat tail FMJ. also i was wondering if there was a table or equation for bullet drop with a stock r700 varmint .308

    Thanks,
    Numb

You can go jbmballistics.com and do a better job your self with more info on your rounds. I just did a quick job of it with Hornady FMJ rounds, but I don't know how long they are or their BC. so this chart is likely off a fair bit. If you plan on shooting much past 400yrds you may want to ditch the AE stuff for some match grade rounds, or even better start to load your own.

It's not so much the rifle as the ammunition. The values Matt gave you are a ballpark for a generic 150gr bullet at your stated velocity. But the mfg published velocity is only a ballpark value as well because that will vary from rifle to rifle.

Your best option with off the shelf ammo is to test it out at different distances and work up your own drop charts.
