I recently did my first barrel install on my Rem. m1917 action. Installed a Criterion .308 barrel. Took it out today for the first time to see what it would do. I wasn't at the range just a little spot outside of town. Took approx. 5 rounds to dial in the scope, then shot these two 3 shot groups. 75 yards, leaning on my truck.. I think it will be OK..

Nice lets see the rifle....
Here is the rifle. Remington m1917 Enfield. Sporterized, Leupold VX-2 3-9X40 gold ring. Rifle was originally WW1 30-06 made in 1918. When I got it from a friend who passed away it had been re-chambered to .300 win mag. I shot it a few times and the barrel was so worn out I couldn't hold a 6" group at 100 yds. So I bought a new .300 win mag, and Picked up a Criterion .308 win barrel for this one because I hear so much raving about how great the .308 is. I do like the .308, but it ain'.308 002.JPG.308 006.JPG.308 007.JPGt no 300 mag. It weighs an even 10 pounds
