Thumbs up for the Kelly kettle , used one for years. It will beat an electric kettle once you are used to using it. Usually puts itself out by boiling over when it's done.
As far as gear goes, I generally put more effort into conditioning and fundamentals but I use and like my pocket rocket stove. I have made stoves out of coke cans as well.
For food, it's not the lightest of things, but peanut butter or nutella and tortillas is a quick pick me up as well as a staple for my Dad and I. We pack the pb or nutella in the heavy duty ziploc bags to save space. It's easy carbs, protein, and calories.
Two trekking poles and a tarp or rain fly will make for a nice "ultra light" shelter as well. I substitute trekking poles with sticks. On cooler nights I have used a bivvy in place of a tent.

I have made a couple of rocket stoves from a gallon paint can and smaller paint can. Also done a lot of jerry-rigging on my pop-up.
Actions speak louder than words but not nearly so often.
