I always figured it wasn't how many rifles you had, but how consistent you were with cleaning one of them every time the BF showed up

My father-in-law does trains and operates search and rescue bloodhounds. I was lucky when dating his daughter, in that he liked me more than his other son-in-law.

That hill just beyond the back fence to the right, looks like a great backstop for shooting from my deck. My neighbors may not be cool with it though. And the interstate off to the left may not be cool with it either.

I got to shoot it this past weekend. I was able to put 40 rounds through it. I really wish I had bought a third box of ammo beforehand. 40 was enough to get the gas block mostly set and then start working on sighting the scope.

Took me a while to set the gas block. First couple of shots where way over gassed, and it was shredding my brass. Bolt carrier was returning fast enough to catch the brass before it left the upper receiver, and then push the brass into the side of the upper, which ripped the front of the case pretty bad. It also kicked like a mule. After of few of these we turned the gas block down a lot, and it was under-gassed. It was stove piping brass. Turned it up 2 clicks. Fired. Up 2 clicks, Fire, up two clicks, fire, etc. Eventually got it to where it was firing about 9/10 times without any issues. Adjusted up two more clicks and called it good.

After all those adjustments the gun doesn't kick very much. My dad fired it, (his first time shooting an AR ever) and he said, "it doesn't kick at all". Personally, I think it would be better with a different butt pad. It has the A2 stock butt pad, and it's not particularly comfortable just because it's hard. Recoil feels slightly more than my AR-15. (this one is 12.8 pounds unloaded) Noise is decent, I was kind of concerned about it due to the 18" barrel but it really wasn't that loud.

Started sighting the scope in on paper. It was shooting a bit low and to the left, but it was getting pretty close when I ran out of ammo.

The 18" ballistic advantage barrel was still pretty cool after 40 rounds. It's a really thick barrel.
