Hey to all that read this thread, I live in southern California again after being honorably discharged at the end of last year. I stay in and around Orange County and try to shoot when I get a chance. I usually go to Burrow Canyon in Azuza near here (30mins away roughly) that is an outdoor range with 200 yards for public use and a private range that goes 400 yards. It's $10 bucks for the day, if we could get a few members in the area that might want to go, we could set-up a meet/greet paper-punching range day or if not something that all the members would want to do together. Maybe figure something out so we in the region can do some long-range stuff too. Just some food for thought, I have an extensive military back-ground and honestly miss the comradory of a bunch of American's that do what we gotta do and love shootin' guns. Feel free to post your comments or opinions, I noticed much in this region is old thread stuff (like past a year) so this could be our New Whats Happening in SoCal thread' for members here. Goodshootin' and Cheers guys':D

Thought I would check in. I live in Ventura County. Until the drought became severe, and the Forest Service prohibited recreational shooting, I have spots I shoot at in Lockwood Valley. Maybe 25 clicks west of Frazier Park, north of Santa Clarita. I prefer "practical LR shooting.

This year I have been going to the Piru Range, steel every 100 yards out to 1000.

20 bucks, you get 2 paper targets, at either 100 or 200 yards. He has a super nice range. Pistol range with steel included.

it had been years since I had been to a public range, but the people are cool.

20 minutes west of Santa Clarita, on the 126 highway

What do you think widowmaker0001?

Hodge Road near Barstow. Lots of info on the web of where to go out there.

Its a few hours drive, but there is also a 1000 yard public range in Yuma AZ.

Angeles is up and running like usual since Jan.

Unfortunately, Rancho Deliverance Shooting Range is closed and it seems will remain forced to be closed for good. They said a new city ordinance has kept them from running the place and too much complains from the hikers. Now... what kinds idiots are hiking near a shooting range which happens to be in the middle of the mountains. Couldn't find any place else to hike??? Ridiculous.

California Tactical Academy has public range with targets out to 1K yards.
