    Nikon BM 6-18x40

I saw Midway USA has the Mil-dot for $299 but I can not find the Mil-dot scope any where else for a review. I searched and found the duplex and ballistic mil-dot and the 4.5-14 mil-dot but not the 6-18. Are all Nikon scopes about the same- good glass for the money and well worth it? A good friend has a Nikon and it is very nice.

    Thanks Scott

I like Nikon, their glass is excellent, even in the Buck Master line the glass is great, and at an affordable price. $299 is a good price so I say, buy with confidence that your getting a quality product.

Actually, the reason you cannot find that scope is because it is a Midway USA exclusive. The 6-18x40 does not normally come with the mildot and midway usa contacted them and had a special order made. I actually think this is a pretty scope for the money, but the 6-18 only has 50 MOA, which with a 15 MOA base should be okay to 1000, and 1/8 clicks which equates to a lot of clicks per revolution. The knobs are nice though, especially if you put on the larger wide knobs (you cannot fit the dust cover over them at that point).

Thanks guys for the info. The scope would be going on my sons 243 which has a Tasco 3-9x40 world class mil-dot and is actually a clear and repeatable unit. I am looking for him some more power in the optics for a longer shot.
