would like inexpensive but zero holding, 1", ~4-18X44 scope. I have an older sightron with similar specs on another rifle that gets great results; however, that company has changed.

If you can get a FFP scope, I would if you want to shoot LD. SFP limits you to one power if you're using a ranging or holdover reticle. Vortex has the Diamondback Tactical FFP in the $300's. You might get a better deal if you re a Vet.

    FFP +1

A .22lr puts out about 0.2 ft. lbs. of recoil. In contrast, a .223 Remington puts out about 3.0 ft. lbs. of recoil (bolt gun to bolt gun). How long will it be until you want to shoot out to 600 yards? I wouldn't say "never" with that rifle.

Can you live with 3.5 inches of eye relief, a 36% discount, and a 20 year warranty? I just thought I'd throw in "beyond reproach" cause I'm a Sako guy and some of the Tikkas have been known to be extremely accurate. By now the tooling is either similar or the same for both barrels. Some people can't see the difference in the glass, but turrets are a different story.

    Good luck.

The only 300$ scope is a SWFA

Unless it’s on a squirrel gun or a shot gun or if you need a dot.

I wish they made a small 1-6x scope.

I don’t think one is made at that price point called “good”...$700.00 and lots of time spent looking on Gunbroker, etc. can land you a good ,1500$ Scope usually still warranted
