Custom Primal Rights 6.5 Creedmoor
So I took this rifle out for some load development this weekend.
OCW consisting of the following:
Hornady brass (new FL sized)
I loaded up a pressure ladder and found pressure at 43gr. I loaded an OCW in .5gr increments from 40.5 to 42.5gr. I test via the round-robin firing method. So I pick one target, fire 40.5, pick next target, fire 41, and so on. Once I have one round at each charge weight fired, I let the rifle cool for 20mins or so, and then fire another round-robin string.
In the image below, you are seeing 3 shots, fired in 3 different strings, within a time span of about 40 minutes. Those holes to the right and above are single 6.5 holes from other charge weights. This is 42gr of H4350, producing a velocity of 2790fps. Those three shots are so tight, you'd tear paper if you tried to push a pencil through there. That dot is 1/2" and would easily cover that entire group.
That was no fluke either. I loaded 10 more with that recipe, and ran 10 more dots. 5 were centerpunched, with the other 5 being firm hits on the black.
If you are looking for a DTA with a ridiculously accurate barrel... we've got you covered. :)
