we currently have one review of the DPMS
The RRA is one of the ones I would like to review eventually, but to be honest its pretty far down the list..... perhaps next year some time

I was interested in a semi auto long range rifle for target use. The obvious choice would be a Knights Armament SR-25, but without a hefty bank account, it's not realistic. I was looking at the other AR type .308 rifles on the market, and the one that intrigued me the most was the Rock River Arms LAR-8 Varmint A4. At a list price of $1350, with a match trigger, free float hand guard, Varmint style barrel, and a limited life time warranty, it seems to have the best bang for the buck (no pun intended) when compared to the DPMS, Armalite, and Knights Armament. The obvious draw back for tactical use would be the shiny stainless 26" barrel, but for LE or paper puncher use I don't think these would be a problem. I would love to see a review of this rifle, or perhaps even an AR .308 shoot out. Any one else interested in this line of thought?[/quote]
I've heard nothing but good about RRA and DPMS, but if you want to build a budget M110, you'd almost have to use a DPMS. They have a whole slew of options including a black 20" barrel and a 4 rail free float handguard. And you can do it in .243, .260 and .308. I'm kinda suprised RRA doesn't take this route with their .308 AR as well. The 26" barrel seems a bit much for anything beyond the bench. If they offered more options and a couple shorter barrel lengths, I'd think it'd pick up some recognition IMHO.
