Just got a Browning X-Bolt HCS yesterday. Right out of the box I went to mount my scope, Vortex Viper HS 4-16x44 on medium lightweight Talley rings. I put the gun in a vice, torqued the rings to the rifle to spec in an x pattern. Leveled it rifle, set the scope in the base rings, leveled the scope via the turret. Torqued down the ring tops carefully in an x pattern. Set my bore laser into the muzzle and maxed out the windage without even getting to the laser. I was a little perplexed. On further examination the scope was visible pointing to the right, not straight down the muzzle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Context: This is the first time I've mounted a scope so I learned from reading here and watching youtube. I'm sure its possible that I did something wrong but nothing felt off or wobbly while i was mounting it. How possible is it the holes drilled into the rifle are off?
