    Kimber Custom II 1911 .45acp

Hi again, I was interested in getting this version of the 1911. It is the base model. I have seen a few in these forums and the price is right. As a newb, I would like to avoid being a schmoe  . Its intended use primary, target pistol; secondary self-defense. Your knowledge is greatly valued. TIA

That will be fine. Actually the 1911 is such a great desing than even the basic model from say Springfield will do what you want it to.

as a quote "newb" you need to get what you want, not what someone tells you is what you "should" have. If youre like me, then money is kind of an issue, if you like a certain pattern, start out with a base line, then add on as you can, I mean if you dont know what you like, how is someone else going to be able to tell you?

My best and only advice is, get your Kimber, shoot it and decide what you like about it and what you dont. The decision is yours in the end, not someone elses.

I hope I didnt sound preachy.
