    As mentioned just take the rear stud out. The bipod has a stud on the back to attach a sling to anyways as you can see from the pics above. It's where I have mine attached.

    You will have tons more dust and dirt getting into the barrel channel through the gap around the barrel. It's one of those "don't sweat it" deals.

    Spend more time looking through the scope and less time at the bottom of the rifle

    yes it did hit the knob to lock the swivel function. (mine has a knurled knob not a lever).

    if you are worried about dirt ingress, put a tiny bit of silicon into the old hole

    Rapaz mate, you wont get full enjoyment out of the sport if you aren't willing to get your kit dirty and earn some dings scratches here and there! nothing wrong with being a perfectionist !

    These are perfect traits for a Benchrest Shooter

    For a tactical/practical shooter, not so much.
