So that would be a 2 1/2 to 3 MOA hold for a 90* wind angle.

Yes flag angle or wind direction. So if the wind blowing straight across, thats 90*, the steeper the angle the less you hold. So a wind blowing straight in line with your bullet path would be no wind angle.

The angles (90 75 60.. degrees) in the top right represent the angle of the wind relative to you and the target. Example 90degrees or wind at your 3:00 is full value 75 degrees or about 1:30 is less and so on.

You look at the wind speed represented by the flag at the distance you are shooting then you go down from the flag to the bottom of the chart in line with the flag you picked and select the angle of the wind relative to your position in degrees and you have your hold. I think the chart at the bottom is MOA. MIL would be way off. I think 20 MOA for a 20 mph wind at 1000yds might be a little low for my 308 specs. but not sure.

I've seen this chart in the Sniper log book sample. Here's the link I found this wind chart at a while back.

Pages 37 and 38 have some really useful information on wind holds. I've never seen that before. I'm going to have to keep that one.

I bought the Rifle data book from Storm Tactical. I think the price was around $20.. bought it a while back. They had a wind clock that I feel is the best I've seen and on the same sheet it had a guide on how to read wind speed with mirage. I haven't practiced that skill set yet but this weekend it'll probably be windy out where I shoot so I'll try and put it into practice. I'd been wrestling with estimating downrange wind speeds and forgot about this mirage sheet until I looked at the reference section in the back of my Rifle data book in order to respond to this thread's author. it's similar to what's on top left of pg 38 wind mirage chart. I just don't care for the wind clock on left side of pg 38
