I was going threw some old stuff when i found 4 shells 2 were .219 Zippers and the other 2 were .219 Zipper HighSpeeds the difference was the highspeed looked more like .300 H&H mag with the rounded necking down and the regular .219 Zipper looks more like a .300 WM with the more crisp necking down. There no where near the same size of those cartrides thats just a comparison of the necking. I was wondering if any one knew the ballistics of these old shells because i cannot find them and i think they stopped producing them in the 60's.

I yhave heard of the standard Zipper (not the High speed) but do not have any experience with it, nor have I ever even seen one. But I bet it was a barrel burner!

i got this from a website ( www.tombstonetumbleweed.com )

The Zipper is a bottleneck cartridge, rimmed and on the order of the 30-3-, 32 Winchester or the 25-35 Winchester cartridge. The difference between the Zipper and the 22 High Power was the size of the projectile, the Zipper using a .224 projectile while the 22 Hi Power used a .228. This made loading and component availability much greater. The Zipper had a long neck with a shoulder angle of 20 degrees and was based on the 30-30 case as stated above. The designed twist was 1-14 inch rifling and reached the velocity of about 3110 fps with a 56 grain bullet

it also stated that this cartrige was the biggest mistake that winchester made.

So it was based off of the .30-30, rather than the .300 Mag? That would make much more sense, as the .30-30 was around at about the same time as the Zipper, both of which predate the .300 WM. Much more sense. Come to think of it, I have heard something about this caliber.
