With 7.62x54 surplus ammo, odds are high that it is corrosive. Can you tell us more about the headstamp? Does it have a date code? This will help identify what you have.

7.62x54R surplus Q.
Picked up a couple of boxes of what looks like 7.62R steel cased military surplus rounds in blue/green boxes with a silver stripe across the front and was wondering if any one knew if they were corrosive or not.

most Russian/Soviet ammo is corrosive and crappy...
woudlt use in anything but a Russian military rifle which generally speaking can take it heh
