What caliber Remington 700 actions can be used for a .308 build with only a barrel swap? Its winter time and time I find something to do.

Anything with a .473 case head diameter. Ones you can use include:

.243
.22-250
6mm
.260

If you want to use a long action
.270
.30-06
.280

There are others, but these are the common calibers that are out there. The magnum cartridges will not work (7mm Rem Mag, .300 Win mag, etc)
