Capt. Mirzaei Nabiullah of the Afghanistan National Army, Force Battalion 3rd Brigade, peers through the 10 power scope of an M-40A3 Marine sniper rifle and adjusts the sights. Nabiullah, along with an interpreter and five other officers from the ANA, visited The Basic School's Weapons Training Battalion Tuesday where they were given a tour and a basic introduction to Marine Sniper School at Quantico Va.

Excellent. Except the last time the Americans trained the Afghanis, they ended up having to fight them again.

Nice to see that the Afghan Army is shaping up.

Now that you mention it, that sharp and jagged crack must feel great on the cheek.

re

In the American army are you always taught to alter the sights to correct for wind etc?

Over here you are taught to aim off.

Im not sure about the Army... ill let an Army Soldier answer for them. But in the US Marine Corps we teach both ways. There are different instances in wich one or the other would be better... so we teach both.

Same on the Army side, we are taught both. It is preferred to adjust for point of aim point of impact, shooters are much more accurate when you do. But it is indeed situation dependent. Lots of times you do not have the time to adjust the windage and elevation, so you will hold off... mil-dots are great for that

are you sure thats busted? Ive seen people do it to make room for the action, but it looks to be not needed on the m40a3 therefore it probably is busted.
