Now bypassing the inevitable arguments against using semi-auto sniper rifles of the AR design, do you think this weapon system would make a good one for law enforcement. Definitely not for long-range, which is why I suggested LE situations. It has proven to be accurate enough, minimal recoil, just about like a .308. It has a very high amount of energy transfer and would probably kill someone just as fast as a .308 would. WIth its low velocity and a good hollow point round, I don't think overpenetration would be a factor. So what do you think? Would it be good or bad for a urban LE sniper system?

!

Aweful law enforecement sniper system....keep in mind that round was never intended to snipe with....it was more so designed as a was to have a semi auto slug launcher. The rounds dont have that much velocity behind them and its such a big bullet it can be very unpredictable at a distance....better that a 12 guage pump with a 1 ounce slug....but nothing I would want to trust in a hostage situation.

.50 Beuwolf i dont see as a sniper round for law enforcement or militray for the same reasons FLEA stated
if you want a semi-auto AR sniper rifle, Armalite AR-10T, Stoner SR-25 would be great if you want a .223, Stoner SR-15, Colt Accurized AR, my most accurate rifle, my Bushmaster Varminter would be good then heh

as far as other designs (not AR) there are a lot of great semi-autos out there too, H&K PSG-1, M14/M1A type etc
