I need help and opinions.

I'm thinking about to buy the new Bergara HMR in .300 Win Mag for long range shooting and hunting...but I'm worried about the barrel diameter (.750 at the muzzle)...I think it will overheat very quickly.

Does anyone have experience with this rifle in .300 Win Mag?

I have one in 6.5 cm that I have played with some. It is a solid 1 moa shooter with quality ammo and when further broken in it looks to have the potential of sub 3/4”. Several 3 shot groups were under 1/2”.

It did heat up quickly. About 10 rounds in and it needed to cool. I would imagine the 300 wm would be worse about heat.

Also, the stock is not very comfortable, although I am used to nice stocks. It is better than an HS precision or B&C, just not as comfortable as some stocks.

The trigger is ok to get you started, but is far from a premium trigger. It is on par with the xmark pro.

The 300 Win Mag is going to heat up any barrel very quick. It is just a lot of energy going down the tube with each shot. Even with a thicker barrel it'll still heat up pretty quick.

The BERGARA B14 HMR carbine is a striking example of a multifunctional carbine, has a classic design, convenient assembly of nodes, which makes it attractive both for hunting and for high-precision shooting. What I like the most about this rifle is that, by designing this sample, the manufacturer managed to combine in it, on the one hand, a classic appearance and high accuracy, and on the other - comfort in operation, functionality, rational layout of nodes. The carbine will interest both a person engaged in sports shooting and a professional hunter. Can anyone here list good sources where to buy ammo? I’d like to get to know other sources ( my current one doesn’t suit me fully). My friend told that
g4gguns.com is one of the best in this industry. Can you confirm that, or advise any other sources? Best regards

I wouldn't buy a 300 win mag from Bergara. I have one that's in the shop right now wouldn't hold a group better than 2 inches. Had multiple folks check it out. Tested 3 different factory match loads. Not impressed.
