lol I agree. If you need someting with that power it's a great deal.

What are you looking to do with the scope? Hunting, sniper rifle, target shooting? What ranges, cal etc. That will tell us more.

Unless it has to be typical tactical scope, Zeiss Conquest is a lot of scope for the money, from what I hear.

Not heard one bad word about it. Ever.

Kamatz' Zeiss recomendation is a very good one.

As is:

Leupold Mk4 PR 4.5-14x40mm
Leupold Mk4 PR 3.5-10x40mm
Burris Black Diamond scopes
Burris XTR's should be fantastic also.
Nikon Monarchs and tacticals (A little above the budget for the tactical)

Let me know if you want some SC pricing on any of the above... we can get them all

Since the price was set at $600, I did not include the super sniper scopes, they are not as good as any of the scope I listed above. The Xotic scopes are above that $600 (the last I checked).

Leupold
Mk4 PR 4.5-14x40mm
duplex - $606
mildots - $682

Mk4 PR 3.5-10x40mm
duplex - $525
mildots - $601

Just so everyone is clear, these are unsold 2003 scopes. They changed in 2004. Are they worth it? Heck yeah! These are still excellent scopes and still an excellent price.

Different coating on the lenses is I beleive the main difference. They probably also have a different exterior finish as well as having the gold ring.

Before 2003, the only Mk4 scopes were the 10x and 16x. (they did have 6x at one point). The other scopes, like these, were known as

Vari-X III "Tactical"
or
Vari-X II "Tactical" for the 3-9x40mm

in 2004 they changed the naming to "mark 4" and improved the lenses and index lenses as well as take away the gold ring, etc.
