You won't believe this. The British government wants to install transponders in every car. The government would monitor the whereabouts of each car via satellite. This whole nutbar scheme is supposed to prevent traffic congestion.

Read all about it. And thank the good Lord that you are not inmates of the Union of Socialist Soviet British Republics.

I'm sure the dweebs in California are all like "OH MY GOD THIS IS A GREAT IDEA!!!!!" and tripping over themselves to get a similar bill written so they can take credit for "revolutionizing" the Californian tax system and way Californians drive.
Oregon is already testing it, and California is debating it--I know I'll be ripping mine out. I yanked out plenty of important things in high school, I don't think this will make the difference!

If the English think that car theft and break-ins are bad now, just wait until this goes into effect!
I don't think stolen transponders will be that big of a deal, however, because if I were to use a stolen one for a few weeks, it would only be time before they caught me. They could check their records for where my car was parked regularly, where it went, etc. (work, home)

If I lived in an apartment building, they could just cross-check the names of employees at the office I park at with those of the complex: I mean, it's not like England has any crime for the officers to fight, so they have all the time in the world right?
