Bipod mounting position

I guess most shooters mount their bipod on the existing sling stud but...

Where is the best position? More toward the chamber or muzzle. Do you want a balanced fulcrum when shouldered or does it really matter?

I’m thinking more balanced than the standard mounting stud then the farther away the less movement but I don’t know

I want to make them all the same.

Thanks

Whatever works...depending on the bipod.

Atlas can fold either direction. A rifle is easier to put into a eberlestock bag when the bipod is folded back.

Harris type bipods can only fold one direction (forward) or you cannot properly load them when shooting.
