Hi Holland, I realize that this post has considerable age on it, but I was just wondering if your ever found out anything regarding swapping the grips, barrel, etc.? I am in the same boat right now and though the barrel is in good condition, I would love to find a heavy barrel for it. Anyway, if you were able to find anything, please let me know. Century Arms R1A1
Guys I have come across a Century Arms R1A1. The deal was too good to pass up. A friend of mine was selling it for $100. 
He hardley ever shot it and when he did he used match ammo which he said was too expensive for his taste. He fired about 60 rounds through it and due to a divorce sold it to me. I have changed the stock and reciever and mounted a Russian illuminated optic (8X42) on it and man does it ping with my hand loaded rounds at 6-700 yards, 8) about the norm for a PSG-1 or Druganov. I am looking for a different pistol grip, round forearms and possibly a heavy barrel for it. Does anyone know where I can look and also I need to lighten the military style trigger to about 2.5 to 3 lbs? Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.
