Chandler Sniper Rifle vs. Accuracy International AWM in .338

This is my first post on SniperCentral and I ask for your collective understanding if my question/answer has been chewed and digested many times before.

I direct this question to members who have had hands-on experience with the following sniper systems:

Norm Chandler's (Iron Brigade Armory) Sniper Rifle; vs
Accuracy International's AWM

Both in .338 Lapua.

If after addressing the issue of which rifle may be preferrable please address the issue of the "ultimate sniping scope" to be placed upon the above.

I will be using the system to shoot both formally and informally at distances up to 1,000 yards. The main issues that I would appreciate being addressed are those of design, quality, and longevity or durability. Price is not an issue; I have rarely made that statement before as price can be an issue.

Thanks for helping me out with the purchase of my newest rifle. After I decide which system to order I will immediately place my order.

The AI will probably have a better resale value.
you sure you want a 338 LM for 1000yds? Its kinda overkill (unless your hunting a t-rex)

there are plenty of other cals. that are quite capable of 1000yds and have half the cost/weight/recoil that is unless you enjoy all 3 8)
Welcome to SC PeregrineAloft ..... I have an AI AWM in .338LM and decided on the AI as first choice over a Sako TRG42 in the same calibre.

I am not familiar with the Norm Chandler's offerings but being that they are US manufactured they would be in the "too hard" basket for me anyway due to all the US export restrictions.

I went with the AI as it is very impressive on a number of counts and the best I could suggest is for you to watch the promotional video from the US agents

As for scope ........ Schmidt & Bender 5 to 25 PMII LP

The .338LM will make 1000 yard shots (and much more) with relative ease as the 250 grain Lapua scenar is a real wind cheater .... danhaaf is correct but none of the others will do it quite like the .338LM.
That post was four years ago, I don't think he's listening.

At SC, we answer all of your questions.....

......eventually.
If this guy answers, he has the patience a true sniper would have.
I was digging through the old posts and found it unanswered. With all the recent excitement over AI, I knew someone would help me answer this poor lost post.

I just couldn't resist it

I would have to agree with this statement, other then that I will remain silent about my thoughts ;)

Yes, in fact I have the patience necessary to become an expert sniper. Would you believe that I've spent the last several years both waiting for some respones from you gentlemen as well as lying in the grass not moving, just maintaining a minimum level of expertise.

Seriously, I thank you all for your input. I seem to have a kinship with the A.I. line of weapons. If I had aggresively employed myself over the past several years rather than having chosen to lye in the grass I would currently have enough $$$ to purchase the complete A.I. weapon system that I have decided upon. Yes, it is based upon the .338 Lapua.

Again, thanks and the best of regards,

Peregrinealoft, (AKA JHT)
Well looks like you got what you were waiting for!!!
