Does anyone here remember the old short 3x and 4x scopes that the Realist Corporation made for Colt? These were made in the 70s and 80s for use on the AR-15 and M-16.

These scopes were short, light and handy and they lived up on the carry handle years before the advent of the flat top.

Does anyone remember them or even have one?

Yes, I remember them very well. They were very popular for a while. But I do not have one

You could still find them until recently occasionally in Shotgun News.

Of course the Chinese are now making a knock-off that is externally just about identical, that can be had for 50 bucks. :x

lol you must be talking about the RedStar Optics line. Most expensive scope is a whopping 75 dollars.
