Just out of curiousity, what would motivate someone to observe such a graphic thing--is there an educational/learning experience to be gained from it?

Yeah, I'm not sure. I have not been to the link, and I'm not sure I will. I know full well what happens to a human body when a bullet strikes, and I don't think I need to see any more of it.... perhaps I'm weird.

I took a look, since no one else seemed to want to. Not all that graphic, but that isnt the point at hand. I'm not sure what the aim was to have that posted, but, if thats what it is like over there, I think that our guys are doing a heck of a job. I dont ever enjoy seeing anything graphic in real life, though.

Notice how the guys who haven't seen it in-person are all more than happy to search it down on God's Green Internet?

More than happy? Doubtful.....I dont think anything pleasureable of seeing someone blown to peices by ANY means. In the same respect, seeing it first hand or not, I find it hard to believe that anyone could blatently watch such a thing and take a sadistic pleasure in it.

Neither do I. Yet, if people don't take such sadistic pleasure in it, then why are there so many copies of the beheading of PoW's on websites? Why are there so many videos on the 'net of criminals being shot dead, or battlefield deaths? Why is there never a shortage of people willing to provide URLs to this material?

They can't claim "Documentary Material" as a 'defense' here. Because they're all far too happy to show it about, without any indication of want or need.

In baisc you joke around a little bit about it. Once you live it, it ceases to be fun. I can only think of a few people I wouldn't mind watching meeting thier maker. But with my luck Osoma's freakin dyalisis will kill him before we do. Oh well, I heard that hurts a lot.

Same reason I DON'T want to see those beheading videos...

Although I remember seeing a Fallujah video of Army ID there. It just show'ed them firering from a roof top into buildings. Didn't show any one geting killed or hit. It was all over the T.V. I went online a few days later and a forum had teh full video. I have it, very cool.

I have that one too, jc71, I like it a lot. You never really see what they are shooting at, so you don't see anyone get killed, but the display of firepower is whats "cool" to see. That and the Bradleys eh?

i saw the aftermath of a shotgun suicide, that was pretty fuckin graphic hahaha, fucked me up real good! i also saw the result of a 7mm-08 bullet to the head (do i need to include the shooter) and that was pretty weird too, nobody talks about how much hair is found on peices of the brain, i leave it as a fun fact

Jeff, I think you need to read the forums rules of engagement "SC Official language policy" before you post again, And please show a little respect. I'm sure Recoil will be along shortly with a few choice words for you.

my bad guys just thought i would give a link to a movie that showed what its like over there in Iraq
Well if the link still exists on the internet could someone forward the link to me in my message box. I believe I know which video is the topic of discussion already. I have a huge folder on my PC of IED's, shootings, beheadings, etc because I DO get the learning points out of such things. And if I don't get anything from a particular video, I may out of the next...

For instance we're able to discern whether or not a particular insurgent group has been trained by various groups simply by seeing how they fire/employ a particular RPG, fire their rifle, where they shoot US troops, which US troops they shoot, how an IED is contructed, accent of insurgents in the video, video editing capability... anything.

The Devil is in the details, therefore the details lead us to the Devil.
