I am in the process of building a light hunting rifle based off a Yugoslavian M48 Mauser action. I plan on using a stainless barrel [most likely in 7mm-08], but the action is steel. I am a college student and strapped for cash and was looking at the bake on laquers. Has anyone tried DuraCoat or the bake on laquers offered by Brownells?

My other option would be to parkerize, but if this is a durable alternative [not to mention cheaper] I wanted to put it into consideration.
