The Hardrock Matches will be run rain or shine as follows: This match is shot from a bench, however; NO Bench Rest equipment is allowed. Bipods, sandbags, or rucksacks may be used to support your rifle. You MUST be able to bring and you MUST be able to remove your equipment in one trip to and from the firing line. After you shoot your relay, you must immediately clear your gear from the line and get on the scoring vehicle to go downrange to see your target scored. Bring your camera if you want a record, decision at the target is final. New Shooters are allowed coaching at their 1st Match. Youth Competitors (16 and under) may have coaching if needed. We encourage the participation of Youth Shooters. The Hardrock Matches are run with three classes of weapons, with absolutely NO ARMOR PIERCING ammo allowed in any class. A.223 CLASS: Any 223 Remington/.556 NATO caliber scoped rifle capable of shooting to 1000. These rifles will be shot on the first relays. Come early if you want to shoot a 223. B. 308 CLASS: Factory SAAMI configuration, no Ackley’s or improved’s, and no Magnums. These are scoped rifles in calibers 308, 30-06, 7-08, 243, 6.5-55, and 260, etc, in factory SAAMI configuration. (This is called 308 Class, 308 PSS, VSSF, Savage 10FP, factory target models, built tactical/work rifles that equal the PSS, Marine Corp M40, working sniper rifles, etc; with the same twist rate as the manufacturer’s specs. The rifle must chamber and function with factory ammunition. No specialized match rifles. No muzzle brakes.) C. ANYTHING GOES CLASS: A. Without Muzzle Brake.Scoped rifles in calibers 338 Remington Ultra Magnum and BELOW are allowed. No 50's, 338 Lapua, 7MM-STW, 30-378 or calibers with more penetrative ability than the 338 Remington Ultra Magnum. We will consider other calibers when we see what one does to the 1000 yard steel. D. ANYTHING GOES CLASS: B. With Muzzle Brake. *** Same as (C.) above, with muzzle brake. If you have a question about your rifle and ammunition, contact the match sponsors.

The match is fired at 600, 800, 900, and 1000 yards, on steel plates with 5 rounds at each distance; at Minute of Angle bullseyes valued at 10 points and a two Minute of Angle circle worth 5 points. The best possible score is 200 points and the match is fired in 20 minutes. First entry fee is $20.00. No price reduction for pre-registration. 2nd, or 3rd entry, which must be in a DIFFERENT CLASS is $10.00 each. If you shoot “Anything Goes” and want to enter 308 or 223 you will pay $10.00 each for the 2nd or 3rd class entry. There is NO shooting twice in the same class. Your first entry in any class counts for score in that class. Your second entry IN ANOTHER CLASS will count for score in THAT class. Any other same class rifles you wish to shoot that meet caliber requirements may be shot in the final relay(s) and do not count for score. Prizes: To get into the prize drawing at Hardrock, the competitors have to shoot 5 of 7 matches and have to be present at the 7th match. Match Tee Shirts will be prepared and each competitor at any of the matches will receive one free tee shirt for the year’s matches. Tee Shirts are given out at the last match; if you will not be at the last match when the Tee shirts are distributed, be sure that we have your current mailing address. Certificates will be given to the top three winners in each class for each match. Any questions, contact match sponsors. ***Relays are based on who is present and signed up based on rifle classes. DUE TO THE MANY POLITE requests relating to muzzle brakes, all rifles with brakes will be squadded together on the same relays. Awards are in the ANYTHING GOES class. Match Time: The matches begin at 0900 Alabama (Central) time, Daylight Savings Time applies when in effect; this section applies to all times in this announcement. Weapons can only be loaded on the command of the range master. Bolts must be removed or safety flags may be inserted, but your rifle must be visibly safe to range personnel from a distance. Eye and hearing protection are REQUIRED to shoot the match. For practice days the range is open from 0830 to 1700 and cost $15.00 a day. The practice relays run for 30 minutes each, more than one relay may be allowed if time permits. Zeroing is allowed on match day only for those who cannot come on the practice day, times allowed are from 0700-0800. If you zero on match day, you will shoot in the later relays. The range is kept open until 1700 on match day for those who wish to shoot after the competition ends. This may be cancelled at the discretion of range management. No Alcoholic Beverages are allowed on the range when firearms are being used. No illegal substances are allowed on the range, PERIOD. Hard Rock Alabama

Hey I was wondering if we have any member in Alabama? It would be cool for members to get together and do some fishing, then post the results. Let me know if we have any.
